NSW North Coast Harvest disrupted

Unfortunately this years harvest has been hampered by the patchy fruiting patterns on the trees.

As many of you already know the harvest in sub tropical Australia is well under way. Many growers in our region have bee disappointed by uneven ripening on the tree. When our berries ripen unevenly it forces us to run the harvester over the trees more than once. You can imagine what this does to the cost of production.

Plans for many growers now include underground irrigation to regulate the onset of the flower, this coupled with complex drainage systems help to improve yields and productivity without overloading the trees with chemical fertilizers.

I'll be out lending a hand this week and most of next as growers try to make the most of the favourable weather. Give me a call or drop me an email if you need a hand. Remember my team work for parchment!
